What kind of storage ottoman should I get?

I am wanting to replace my coffee table with a storage ottoman because I need the storage and have a small daughter who keeps whacking her head on the sharp corners of our current table. I have a couch with a stone-colored slipcover and two large dark brown leather armchairs. What color ottoman should I get, and should I go with fabric or leather? Most of the ones I see are dark brown leather, but I already have two dark brown leather chairs. That might be overkill. I don't know. What do you think?
