I have two black cloth couches, white coffee table and end tables, and a red area rug under the coffee table-- all from Ikea. My carpet is beige/off-white carpet and I have white walls. What color drapes should I get?
Black, or black and white patterned. the red would probably be too hard to match.
I would get red curtains to tie in with the red rug. But I also like the idea of black with a large white pattern on it (I can see it in my head and it looks great!) I think either one would look very nice!

Well, this is a tough one. you are almost creating a piece of modern art here and need to imagine just that.
Yes, imagine your room is a canvas. In the center you have created a powerful "image". the canvas background is beige and white.
The "image" you have created starts with the red rug, the white coffee table on top, black couches facing each other across the carpet. this central "image" is dramatic indeed. we love it! But it calls for restraint.
The curtains should be a little bit darker than the carpet. the effect will be powerful. if you do anything more at the windows it will distract from the "image" you have created.
Keep in mind that your choices have resulted in a strong "image" and when you add other furniture or accessories, don't allow them to distract. They should be either light shades of beige or white. Use black and red only in the "tinies", things like ceramics and other decorative items.
I'd recommend a small candy/nut dish, or fruit bowl, or vase, in black. choose red silk poppies or dried straw colored grasses.
Your wall decorations can incorporate any or all of these above mentioned colors.
