the coffee table is actually light wood color but with some laquer on it to make it look a bit orangey-red. (sorri dont know what the color is actually called.) i need to go get a couch and dont know what color to get. my tv/media storage cabinet is same color as coffee table, carpet is cream and walls are white.

any tone of brown ...... a chocolate brown couch with a few pillows that pop color like green n blue
with a light wood you can go with any color, I would go a light tan, that will always match anything
maybe a tan colored couch. but with the nuetral colors you have in your home you might want to add some color with your couch and some accessories. try a navy blue couch.
