We are looking for an outdoor venue for a country wedding in York Region, Ontario – any ideas?

we want a place big enough to set up the "just in case" tents and chairs and tables for about 150 - 200 people. it is not going to be a formal wedding but more of a country party.

I would put up some classifieds (online and newspaper) and see if anyone has some property they could rent to you, if someone has land just sitting there I'm sure they'd be happy to take you up on your offer and make some money from it. Try word of mouth as well, I'm sure someone will know someone.

Good luck!

Here's a list of some sites throughout Ontario: http://www.swpp.co.uk/wedding_venues/Ont…
This site might also give you some good venues: http://www.eventective.com/Canada/Ontari…

This site has a lot of great places: http://kcwyorkregion.com/ceremony_locati… a golf course might not be country enough for you, but the parks, inns, and historic properties might be especially interesting. And check out the unique locations because you never know what they might have.

Also a great tip that I used for finding locations is to look on other vendor's sites. Caterers and photographers are especially helpful with this, because they like to advertise their venues.

Wherever you choose to have your wedding, be sure to check out the negotiating tips on http://www.savemoneyonawedding.com. This is a great way to make sure that you don't let a venue (or any other vendor) overcharge you for your wedding.

Best of luck!
