Bought a sofa table that was suppose to be black but isn't, what kind of paint do I use to repaint it?

Inside the store it looked black and the ticket said it was black but once I got it outside it wasn't and I couldn't return it. I want to paint it black to match the rest of my furniture in the room but not sure what type and finish of paint to purchase.
